Golf Clubs in Cannes

The beautiful French countryside surrounding Cannes is a golfing paradise.  Half a dozen excellent courses are within a half hour drive, with a further six less than an hour away. They are well maintained and offer a variety of challenges for all golfers.  Booking in advance is advised, but simple, as all professional staff are English.

​Golf St Donat is excellent and about 20 minutes by car.  This Robert Trent Jones designed course has a driving range and 9-hole par 3 course on site.  Golf d’Opio Valbonne A rustic parkland course, par 73, in the heart of the countryside. Driving and short game practice facilities.  Le Provençal in Biot, a nine hole course, par 35/75 which has a comprehensive practice facilities and a golf academy.  Golf de la Grande Bastide is a picturesque inland course, par 72, with a spectacular closing hole.

Terre Blanche in Tourrettes near Fayence has two Dave Thomas designed 18-hole championship courses, Le Riou and Le Chateau, both 72 par.  ​Saint-Endreol Golf Club is a bit further inland and an hour's drive but stunning and difficult.  Grasse-Claux-Arnic is a difficult course in the mountains and the favourite of many.

Taulane-Claux-Amic is also in the mountains and is closed in winter because it is on the snow line. St Maxime Golf is just above the town and the views are unbelievable but in the height of summer the roads are very busy. Barbaroux Golf Club near Brignoles, designed by Peter Dye, is described as having a potpourri of styles which range from links like holes with blind shots to US styled target golf holes protected by water.
